Madeline McLean is a high school student participating in the School for Science and Math at Vanderbilt (SSMV) program. As part of this program, Maddy began planning her project in the Spring and will work in the lab over the summer. Maddy will pilot a new genetic screen in yeast, selecting for mutants that bypass specific growth blockades.
